The Boys’ Brigade Sharity Gift Box 2008

New Creation Church (NCC) participated en masse in The Boys’ Brigade Sharity Gift Box (BBSGB) 2008 on Sunday, 14 December 2008. Congregation members donated daily necessities like rice, powdered milk, cooking oil, canned food (halal), biscuits, toothbrushes, soap and diapers to the BBSGB, with the aim of bringing Christmas cheer and joy to the less privileged.

Carrefour hypermarket partnered us in this project, preparing grocery packs worth about $80 each for easy pick-up and checkout. They were sold out before 4pm. Many NCC members also made a la carte purchases for donation purposes.

NCC will also fulfil the Christmas wishes of 174 families and elderly persons under the Public Assistance Scheme. Up to $46,680 worth of household and electrical appliances will be distributed by 10 January 2009. In all, NCC has contributed more than $150,000 worth of daily necessities and household needs to the BBSGB’s beneficiaries.

Myanmar Cyclone Relief

New Creation Church has contributed $50,000 to the international relief effort for the victims of the cyclone that struck Myanmar recently.

Our contribution is being used to purchase much-needed supplies such as food and blankets for the victims, as well as to finance experienced aid teams. One of these teams is equipped with two water purification machines.

Our funds are channelled through Feed The Hungry, an international aid organisation founded by the late Pastor Lester Sumrall. The aid teams we are financing are from this organisation. Feed The Hungry is also working closely with the Full Gospel Assembly in Yangon, which has a strong network of churches in Myanmar.
