Blessed With A Job After Losing His Previous One
I was actively looking for another job as the bank I was working in was badly hit by the subprime crisis in 2008. In August 2009, due to work disagreements, my boss suggested that I move on and told me that he would give me three months to look for another job.
When I heard that, I was initially worried as I had just entered a long term financial commitment. However, when the dust settled, instead of panicking, I chose to listen to God’s Word as my next step. I listened to Pastor Prince’s sermons daily as I wanted to continuously remind myself that even with the economic downturn at that time, my peace and solution were found in Jesus.
I decided to submit my resignation a month later without a job offer. Although it appeared to be illogical, I felt a great sense of peace to do that after praying about it. Truth be told, I had never felt such joy for a long time.
Three weeks after I left my company, I received offers from three reputable banks in Singapore, of which two offered a salary with a 22 per cent to 25 per cent increment from my last drawn salary.
In the end, I accepted one of the offers and I am thankful that the new position was a positional and monetary promotion, with better hours. The work environment was less stressful and my health improved. Thank you Jesus!
I am also thankful for Pastor Prince’s messages. They are practical because our God is a practical God who is always our present source of encouragement, wisdom and solace.
