Turned To God And Career Turned Around
Six months ago, I attended New Creation Church for the first time. Back then, I was tired and weary from life’s struggles. My boyfriend of five years had left me for another girl. After graduation, I had been in and out of two jobs. While I would start each job with much enthusiasm, I always ended up disappointed and disillusioned. I stopped turning to God because I felt like I had failed Him as a youth leader and a Christian whose life is not glorious.
But the moment I stepped into the Rock Auditorium, I felt a warm and uplifting sensation inside me. At that service, Pastor Prince shared about the unconditional love of Jesus despite our failures and imperfections. When I heard that, I started crying and could not stop. As Pastor Prince led the congregation in a prayer, I whispered in my heart, asking God to help me believe that His love for me is truly unconditional. As I stepped out of the service that day, I felt an unexplainable peace in my heart.
After that, I took a one-week trip to Perth, bringing along Pastor Prince’s Unmerited Favor book. I read the book every day and my emotional pain was replaced by love, peace and joy. By the time I returned to Singapore, I was excited to discover what God had in store for me.
On my day of return, I received a job offer from a global company. What was even more amazing was that four other global companies were also calling me up for interviews!
I accepted the first offer I received. When I started on my new job, there was an adjustment period. But this time round, enlightened by Pastor Prince's Unmerited Favor book, I would make it a point to spend time with God and declare good things before I step into the office. Even if I had made mistakes at work or worked till very late the night before, I would still go to work every morning with a confident expectation of good.
Soon, I was confirmed as a permanent staff with a pay higher than my previous jobs. At the age of 26, I was also featured in a local newspaper article spotlighting on new developments in my industry. I know this could only happen because of God’s unmerited favour on me.
