Christmas Party For Bethany Methodist Nursing Home

Where? Bethany Methodist Nursing Home
Why? To bring joy to the elderly through a Christmas party. The party included a praise and worship session in Hokkien, followed by a short message on the love of God through the finished work of Jesus. The significance of the Holy Communion was also shared, and the elderly partook of the covenant meal with our volunteers. During an altar call, 17 elderly persons invited Jesus into their hearts.  After the party, each elderly person received a goodie bag.
Who? 65 elderly persons from Bethany Methodist Nursing Home.

Fun At The Zoo — Outing For Children (With Usher Team 3)

When? 21 November 2009
Where? Singapore Zoo
Why? To express the love of Jesus to underprivileged children. The children were blessed with a fun-filled time exploring the various exhibits at the Singapore Zoo. The outing ended with a lunch at KFC and each child received a goodie bag that included a sling bag, stationery items, a water bottle and toy.
Who? 34 children from Ghim Moh Estate.

Banquet Of Honour For Filipino Domestic Workers

When? 14 November 2009
Why? To honour and show appreciation to the Filipino domestic workers in our midst in a tangible and meaningful way. They were treated to a sumptuous spread of Filipino cuisine, fun games, a lucky draw and exciting performances by Filipino artistes from Singapore and the Philippines. Erik Santos, the Philippines’ prince of pop, also made a special appearance at the lunch banquet.
Who? About 300 Filipino domestic workers enjoyed the luncheon.

A Time To Shine — Distribution Of Gift Packs (By Arrow’s Varsity Cluster)

When? 7 November 2009
Where? New Town Primary School (NTPS)
Why? As a follow-up to the A Time To Shine — Outing For Children event on 10 October 2009, some of our Arrow volunteers returned to bless the underprivileged students of NTPS’ Learning Support Programme with gift packs containing food items and a pair of shoes each.
Who? 20 students from NTPS.

Games Carnival For The Spastic Children’s Association Of Singapore (With Arrow’s Polytechnic/ITE Cluster)

When? 31 October 2009
Where?
Spastic Children’s Association of Singapore (SCAS) main hall
Why?
To spread the love of Jesus by organising a games carnival for the children, and to bless each child with a goodie bag containing stationery items and toys.
Who?
50 children from the SCAS.

Cleaning Of Flats For The Elderly And Distribution Of Gift Packs

When? 24 October 2009
Where? Thong Kheng Seniors Activity Centre (Tanglin-Cairnhill)
Why? To share the love of Jesus with the elderly by cleaning their flats and blessing them with gift packs containing daily necessities.
Who? 11 elderly person’s flats were cleaned and 130 elderly persons received gift packs.

A Time To Shine — Outing For Children (With Arrow’s Varsity Cluster)

When? 10 October 2009
Where? Underwater World Singapore and Dolphin Lagoon, Sentosa
Why? To bring love and joy to the students of New Town Primary School’s (NTPS) Learning Support Programme (LSP) by taking them on an exploratory excursion. The students spent an exciting day learning about sea creatures by observing them up close, and had fun filling up the activity sheets prepared by our volunteers. Upon completing the activity sheets, each student received a medal and two storybooks.
Who? 70 Primary 1 and 2 NTPS students on the LSP which provides additional assistance in basic reading and mathematical skills.

Mid-Autumn Celebration-And-Dinner For The Elderly

Where? Singapore Indoor Stadium and a Japanese restaurant
Why? To be a blessing to the elderly who have poor social support and live in one-room flats by bringing them joy through the outing, and to allow our volunteers to express and share the love of Jesus with these elderly through their interactions with them

Outing For Children (With GenRev)

Where? The Singapore Zoo
Why? To bless underprivileged children with gift packs, bring them joy through a zoo outing and share the love of Jesus with them
Who? More than 40 children aged five to 12 from Kampong Kapor Family Service Centre went on the outing, and some were accompanied by their parents.

Bringing Festive Joy To The Elderly

Where? Kampong Kapor Family Service Centre (KKFSC)
Why? To celebrate Chinese New Year with elderly residents who live alone and have no family members, and to express Jesus’ love for them. During KKFSC’s Chinese New Year Eve lunch event, our church blessed each elderly person with a $50 angpao.
Who? 35 elderly persons were blessed
