Christmas Love In A Box

Over 50 Care Groups and serving ministries from The Zone participated in A Box Full Of Love — a collaboration between Outreach Ministry and the youth ministry, The Zone. The initiative encouraged youths to “adopt” a child to bless, and for each to prepare a box full of toys, books and small gifts. The love boxes will bless 63 underprivileged children from Gracehaven home and Industrial & Services Co-operative Society Ltd (ISCOS).

“The response was overwhelming. In less than eight days, well before the closing date, all the boxes were snapped up!” said The Zone Executive, I Reen Lim. “Over the weeks, the youths even met up to pack and decorate their gift boxes,” she added.

The Christmas love boxes were later collected and participants prayed over them during The Zone’s Christmas service on 17 December 2011.

“I felt a warm sense of love and unity as we prayed over the boxes,” Guan Mei Ling, a youth server, said. “I am so humbled to be part of this as it’s a tangible way of showing God’s love to others.” The love boxes were later hand delivered by staff from the Outreach Ministry to the home, just in time for Christmas!

Across Generations

Over 20 children from Rock Kidz, joined their parents and church volunteers in a visit to elderly members of Peace Haven Nursing Home on 9 July 2011.

The Primary 3 and 4 children and adult volunteers played games, sang songs, served snacks, and chatted with the senior citizens. It was a wonderful opportunity to minister the love of Jesus.

“I was touched to see the Ah Kongs and Ah Mahs happily clapping and playing games with us,” said Ilysa Or, 10, from Rock Kidz. “I was also able to pray for them too!”

“When the children went forward to pray for the elderly, many of the old folks were visibly moved by their gesture,” said Huang Meijie, an executive with Rock Kidz. “There was such a sweet tangible presence of the Lord, and I believe every single one was touched by His love!”
