Thailand • 12 October–14 October 2010

Imagine springing up from bed at 4.45am to get ready for Bible camp. That’s what some eager Thai children did during a 3-day Bible Camp at Wang Tarn Resort in Chiangmai, Thailand.
Held between 12 and 14 October 2010, 15 staff and members of New Creation Church organised a camp for over 75 children from Life Impact, Zoe International, Agape Home and Agape Grace Church. The organisations, excepting Agape Grace Church, reach out to children who have been or are in potential danger of being human trafficked.
“The children were excited and took their baths very early so they could get started on camp!” said Jane, a Thai worker from Agape Grace Church.
They were not disappointed. The camp was action-packed with outdoor relay games, mass dances, finger-puppet shows, skits and songs. Pastor Keith Monteiro, who ministered to the children, even painted an ark on a white canvas sheet as he preached. He later invited the children to step forward with their brushes to help “paint the story” of Noah.
Proud parents Ae and Ajarn Kii were initially concerned that their 3½ year-old daughter would not take to the camp well. “She had never slept without us before but she managed to participate in the camp without crying or asking for us!
“Our daughter also returned with a better understanding of the Word of God that was taught through grace-filled teaching and activities.” All glory to Jesus!
Thailand • 29 August–3 September 2010

The presence of Jesus was sweet at the Ban Palan School at Sameong Nua, Thailand where our missions team was from 29 August 2010 to 3 September 2010.
Our missions team comprised of two New Creation Church (NCC) staff and 13 NCC volunteers. They organised a three-day camp where they taught over 210 children, aged between three and 15, the English language using gospel stories, songs and activities.
Through colourful art and craft, compelling story-telling and exciting games, the children learnt that Jesus is their peace, Healer, Provider and that He loves them deeply. At the end of the camp, almost 200 children and more than 20 adults made the precious decision to receive Jesus into their hearts as their Lord and Saviour.
This trip also saw God’s healing anointing move powerfully. During an evangelistic night, one of our volunteers prayed for a villager who had a hearing problem and his ears opened up. A missions volunteer was also healed of eczema during the trip.
Apart from ministering to the children and villagers, the missions team also made home visits to 130 households to bless them each with a bag filled with daily necessities.
Vietnam • 9–14 May 2010

For many of the children in an orphanage in Vietnam, just a loving touch from Jesus is all they need to brighten up their day. And that is what our New Creation Church’s volunteers seek to do — bring Jesus into their lives.
A team of 19 went on a missions trip to Vietnam between 9 and 14 May 2010. The team also included volunteers from Arrow, a youth group of New Creation Church. The first half of the trip saw the team spending three days interacting with the children at an orphanage, some of whom have cerebral palsy or Down’s syndrome.
To bring heaven’s love down to these little ones, our missions team would engage them through sessions of praise and worship, role-play of Bible stories and fun games! Our volunteers also helped to feed the children during meal times, play ball games with them and teach them new songs, such as 1, 2, 3 Jesus Loves Me in Vietnamese and My God Is So Big in English.
The missions team also blessed the sisters and nurses in the orphanage with gift packs containing daily necessities on behalf of New Creation Church.
For the second part of the trip, the team went to a church to introduce the love of Jesus to the people from the ministry of the home for the blind. The volunteers also told a moving story about a drawbridge operator who made a tough, selfless decision to sacrifice his son to save the lives of train passengers. The story was told as an allegory of God sacrificing Jesus, His only begotten Son, on the cross for us.
After three fulfilling days, it was time for the team to leave. But not before blessing the home’s members with 60 gift packs containing daily necessities from New Creation Church.
Thailand • 25–30 April 2010

Changing hearts and transforming lives. That is what our missions teams seek to do whenever they go on missions trips.
Our missions team set foot in Chiang Mai between 25 and 30 April 2010 to bring the gospel of grace to the children in Vieng Ping Children’s Home. Together with Pastor Keith, the team of 18 had a fun time ministering to the children from kindergarten to secondary school. Our volunteers for this missions trip were from GenRev, a youth group of New Creation Church.
The volunteers and children thoroughly enjoyed themselves playing games such as Eagle Catches Chicks. The kindergarten kids were also treated to a special puppet show, on the story of Jesus raising Lazarus from his tomb, by our volunteers. The children loved the puppets and could not stop touching them!
The missions team also taught the children some worship songs such as Hero In Me and Hallelujah complete with hand gestures! The presence of the Lord was strong as the children belted out the lyrics to Jesus.
The missions team rounded off the trip with a time of giving as our volunteers handed the children some candy and a pillow each. The precious little ones rushed towards the volunteers, eager to receive their presents.
China • 20 February–10 March 2010

Over the years, New Creation Church has stepped forward to bless China and has been involved in numerous missions trips, bringing the love of God to this nation. This trip marks the eighth time our church has gone to China for our Sponsor A Student programme.
A team of eight, including NCC volunteers from the Chinese Ministry, embarked on an 18-day missions trip to four different regions in China on 20 February 2010. About 130 underprivileged children from 14 churches in the southern part of China were blessed with financial assistance in their studies under the programme.
Funds were also disbursed to an orphanage, its primary school and drug rehabilitation centre in another part of China. These funds will be used for the orphans’ expenses and school fees as well as other operational costs.
Besides sponsoring needy students, the team also conducted leadership training for close to 170 pastors and leaders from 45 churches.
Chiangmai • 10–15 January 2010

With a passion for ministering the love of God to people around the world, Pastor Keith along with two New Creation Church (NCC) staff and 16 church volunteers went to Chiangmai, Thailand, between 10 and 15 January 2010 to share the gospel of grace. The team had the opportunity to bless and build relationships with the students of Ban Mae Sawan School while they were there.
Over three days, God’s love was shared with close to 200 school children through craft activities and songs like Jesus Loves Me and Nothing But The Blood. The students also had the opportunity to feed on the Word through picture books and Bible stories. At the end of each day, key verses printed in both Thai and English were handed out to the children to remind them of God’s promises in their lives.
On the last day of their mission, our volunteers organised a games carnival and an evangelistic service at the students’ hostel grounds. After the carnival, the 140 school children present were treated to a special dinner prepared by our volunteers. During the evangelistic service, Pastor Keith shared about Jesus’ sacrifice and the divine exchange that took place at the cross. He wore a trash bag as a shirt and exchanged it for a brand new shirt to illustrate how Jesus took our shame and gave us His place of blessings. At the end of the service, the children and hostel staff were blessed with new T-shirts to represent their new identity in Christ.
Many lives were touched by the gospel during this trip and a total of 49 children made a first-time decision to receive Christ! Hallelujah!
