Extending Love And Help To Nepal

Latest update on 17 May 2015

Pastor Raju Sundas of the Lighthouse Foundation and volunteers from his church, Hosanna Church Ministries, have reached another 1,600 people with supplies of rice, noodles and lentils. Many of these volunteers gladly stepped up to help the villagers despite having had their own houses destroyed by the earthquake.

15 May 2015

Our church will be giving another US$5,000 towards the Nepal relief efforts, this time to Magani Church Ministries in Nepal to buy and distribute essential necessities like food, water, blankets and tents for the people affected by the earthquake.

12 May 2015

Church, let’s continue to uphold Nepal and its precious people in prayer. Another earthquake of magnitude 7.4 hit Nepal, near Mount Everest. We are reaching out to our partners in Nepal to find out more and assess how we can help.

5 May 2015

Over the weekend, our partner in Nepal continued to distribute food, tents and other relief supplies to some 5,600 people who have lost their homes. To date, they have reached about 10,000 families displaced by the earthquake.

2 May 2015, 8pm

The supplies of tents, rice and lentils distributed by the Lighthouse Foundation will provide shelter and feed some of those whose homes have been destroyed.

We will be giving S$10,000 to the Singapore Red Cross in aid of the victims of the earthquake. A doctor from our church, Dr Raymond Lim, has also set off for Nepal with the Red Cross medical team from Singapore.

Go, the Red Cross medical team from Singapore, go! Our prayers are with you. Dr Raymond is standing fourth from the left.

26 & 28 April 2015

The nation of Nepal is a beautiful country of sprawling mountains and remote villages with some 30 million inhabitants. When a 7.8-magnitude earthquake struck it on Saturday, 25 April 2015, it destroyed not just buildings but livelihoods and homes, and claimed thousands of lives.

The United Nations estimated on 27 April that 8 million people are in need of humanitarian assistance. The death toll has since risen to over 4,000 and is projected to hit 10,000.

Loving the people of Nepal

To help in the most immediate and practical way, our church is working with a long-time partner to procure and distribute food and essential necessities to the Nepalese.

To this end, we will be giving an initial amount of US$10,000 (about S$13,200) to the Lighthouse Foundation in Nepal, a Nepali state-approved foundation dedicated to feeding programmes, education and healthcare to poor and orphan children.

A glimpse of the devastation in Nepal.

Temporary shelters erected in Nepal after the earthquake.

Pastor Raju Sundas (far right) of the Lighthouse Foundation, Nepal, is already working hard on the ground to distribute food and necessities to the victims of the earthquake.

Since 2010, our church has contributed over S$180,000 to the foundation’s work to rescue abandoned babies and save girls from sexual slavery and abuse. Small girls and young women in parts of Nepal are often tricked and coerced into prostitution. Some are gang-raped and beaten up to make them compliable despite the horrific conditions they endure. Many become pregnant or are afflicted by sexually-transmitted diseases. Without help, these girls have no hope and no future, and may finally die of their sickness.

The foundation works to provide a loving and safe home for these girls and equip them with life skills. Through our giving, we are helping to save these girls from deprivation and exploitation, and create a new life for them.

In 2012, Pastor Lawrence Lim also visited the home and ministered to the girls with prayers of restoration and healing. Click here to read more.

Lifting them up in prayer

Church, let us continue to uphold Nepal and its precious people in prayer. Let us pray that God will strengthen and comfort them, and give the rescue teams wisdom and supernatural insight to save those who need help.

We will continue to work closely with our partners in Nepal to render effective and practical help. More details will be shared in the days ahead.

In Memory Of Mr Lee Kuan Yew, First Prime Minister Of Singapore

As a church, we mourn the loss of Mr Lee Kuan Yew, one of Singapore’s founding fathers who made a tremendous difference to the success and prosperity of the country and its citizens. We pray for the Lord’s comfort and strength on Mr Lee’s loved ones during this difficult time, and for His abundant blessings and favour to continue to be on them and our nation.

Together with his pioneering team of leaders, Mr Lee laid the foundation stones of modern-day Singapore and devoted most of his life to serving the people of this nation. His wisdom and dedication resulted in the incredible growth of a small nation. He was truly a great blessing to this country.

Our Senior Pastor Joseph Prince, who has always taught us to have a culture of honour and to show respect and appreciation where it is due, commissioned the youth to honour Mr Lee in a public way. This inspired our youth Dominic Chin to appreciate and honour Mr Lee with a song he wrote and recorded in 2014.

This song was performed as a tribute to Mr Lee at our English services on 29 March 2015, the day of the State Funeral.

Click here to view a video of the performance.

On 22 May 2015, we presented a digital painting of Mr Lee to his son, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, to express our love and appreciation for Mr Lee, and our continued prayers for the family and Singapore.

Our artist Patrick Lee completed the painting in nine hours after he learnt of the demise of Mr Lee.

The venue is easily accessible by public transport, and our English services and children’s ministry Rock Kidz are also there on Sundays. Now, almost everyone in the family can attend services together at MBS — adults who are more comfortable in English, those who prefer Chinese, and the kids.

What’s more, the Chinese services are starting earlier in the morning, at the same time as the English services. This means more time to fellowship after church, even with family and friends from the first and second English services.

New Door Numbers @ The Star Theatre

The doors to The Star Theatre, The Star Performing Arts Centre (The Star PAC) now have new numbers which makes it easier for our congregation and visitors to find the doors to their seats.

These new door numbers reflect the level the door is on, and have an alphabet to differentiate among the doors on that level. For example, door 7A is the first door from the left on Level 7. See the plans below for more details or visit The Star PAC microsite.

Your seat booking confirmation notice for services in The Star Theatre reflects these new door numbers. Do note that the seat numbers and directions remain the same. If you need help, just ask our friendly ambassadors (in green polo shirts) and ushers (in white shirts) for directions.

Power Of Right Believing USA Tour 2013

Every day, Jeff Evans and his family of five would gather at their living room to watch Senior Pastor Joseph Prince on his TV broadcast, Destined To Reign. When news of the Power Of Right Believing USA Tour broke, the Evans decided that they would be there to receive from this man of God.

On 6 November 2013, the Evans made their way down to Long Beach Arena, in Los Angeles, California, where they finally got to hear Pastor Prince preach live in person. “Pastor Prince is like family to us,” said Jeff, “To see him standing right before our eyes is a tremendous gift from God. My family and I are so excited about the good things that God has in store for our nation and the whole world through the gospel of grace!”

On this tour, Pastor Prince boldly proclaimed the unadulterated gospel of grace to capacity crowds in the states of New Jersey, California and Texas. He also led his audience in a time of Holy Communion, declaring health and wholeness to their bodies.

Partaking of the Holy Communion

Rose, a 78-year-old arthritis patient, was among the thousands who attended service at Long Beach Arena. According to her daughter, Sylvia Cardoza, her mother could not sit or stand for long periods of time. However, her mother’s legs did not bother her that day and she even did something she has never done before — praising God during the worship and lifting her hands!

Millions more were impacted as Pastor Prince unveiled Jesus as their righteousness on Trinity Broadcasting Network’s (TBN) Praise The Lord programme on 30 October. Being America’s largest Christian television network, TBN had a global reach of more than millions of homes across America and the world.

To Brenda Kimble-Johnson, who travelled over 1,000km from Atlanta to Dallas, the event was nothing but incredible. “Thank you for coming and bringing the good news of His grace in such a powerful way!” she said.

All glory to Jesus for the lives that have been impacted in America!

Our Pastor In America’s Largest Church

In every sense of the word, Senior Pastor Joseph Prince’s first live speaking engagement in the United States was a historic event marked clearly by God’s favour.

On 29 and 30 October 2011, Pastor Prince unveiled the loveliness and glory of Jesus and His finished work at Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas. Pastored by Joel Osteen, and his wife, Victoria, Lakewood Church is the largest church in America.

Over 40,000 people attended the three services, with many coming from all over the US, and Canada, some having driven over 18 hours to get to Houston. From California to Minnesota and Florida, from British Columbia to Montreal, thousands came eagerly to hear Pastor preach the message of God’s grace in person at this much-awaited event.

Israel Houghton, Grammy-award gospel singer-songwriter, led the people at each service into exuberant, faith-filled worship, and Trinity Broadcasting Network, the world’s largest Christian television network, was onsite to cover the event.

As Pastor Prince preached under a powerful anointing, people who had come feeling condemned and fearful were set free as they simply listened and received the message of no condemnation because of the cross of Christ.

“It was one of the best times I’ve ever had,” said Melissa Torgersen, who had flown all the way from Florida. “Thank you, Pastor Prince, you’ve helped me reach a greater understanding of the Word and develop a deeper relationship with Jesus! I can’t wait for you to come back to the US!”

Reverend Col & Jan Stringer On Their Pastors Trip To NCC

17 July 2014

G'day partners and friends,

Jan and I have just returned from taking our annual pastors trip to New Creation Church, Singapore. This makes over 200 pastors, leaders and their spouses from Australia and New Zealand that we have taken to attend the Sunday service (31,000 people attend the church on average). After that, we were truly blessed to have a time of personal teaching and fellowship with Pastor Joseph Prince, his wonderful wife Wendy and his awesome staff.

I can truthfully state that we have not taken one minister or leader whose life has not been changed dramatically by attending one of these trips (including Jan and myself), and I cannot speak highly enough of Pastor Prince for his love, generosity and impartation into all of our lives. I truly believe that grace is the next “move” or “message” that the Holy Spirit is using to touch His people, and I know I am not alone in that belief.

Some have spoken about such things as “hyper grace” or the misuse or misunderstanding of grace, but I have found this is usually presented by people who have not had a true revelation of grace for themselves, but just accepted grace as a doctrine. We noticed a similar pattern in the early days of “Word of Faith”, but we are saved BY GRACE, through faith!!

No one is trying to brainwash or “ram grace down people’s throat”, as some make accusations. I, for one, am simply testifying as to what has happened in Jan and my life (and many others). How can you argue doctrine against a person who has had a genuine experience with the Lord and their lives dramatically changed forever?

Many ministers/leaders had broken down and cried in these meetings; some had told me personally they were ready to quit the ministry, indeed had, before the meetings, made up their minds that they were going to do so! One pastor told me he had seriously contemplated suicide. Many have told of the change in their marriages, families, churches and ministry… Most have described how a revelation of true grace has set them free from the constant striving, performing and trying to make things happen using their own strength and abilities!

And I am talking about senior pastors who have been in ministry for many years. Many come from varying backgrounds – Word of Faith, Australian Christian Churches, Churches of Christ and others.

One young pastor – who had previously taken a strong stance against the “grace message” (it's not a message, but a person – Jesus), in fact he had even been studying with Jewish rabbis for years – was sitting in his church when he had a visitation from the Lord. He told me how the heavens had opened up and a huge, shining cross appeared before him and how he heard a voice call him by name and tell him, “Pastor… you have been living in the old covenant and now it's time to move into the new covenant!"

Pastor Mark Elmendorp (Senior Pastor of Albany Hills Christian Church in Brisbane) writes: “The last two days of my trip… I spent them at New Creation Church, Singapore pastored by Joseph Prince, one of the true generals of the faith in the world today. It's a rich church in every way, from the building it meets in, to the country it's located in, to the people who attend, to the excellence of Pastor Prince's preaching. I listened on that particular Sunday morning to Pastor Prince speak for one hour 15 minutes in a ‘Bible college masterclass’. It is said of New Creation Church that its congregation is the most biblically literate congregation on earth. From these two positions, I saw something interesting. God loves the poor and the rich. He doesn't look at these things. He looks at the heart of a man.”

You are highly favoured, greatly blessed and deeply loved!

NCC Supports Humanitarian Aid In China

Our church is working with the Amity Foundation, a Chinese non-governmental organisation, to provide emergency relief supplies such as water, food, blankets and other essential items to victims of an earthquake at a remote area in Yunnan, China. Our hearts and prayers go out to the victims, and we know that Jesus is near to the brokenhearted.

The earthquake which measures 6.5 on the Richter scale hit the Ludian county on Sunday, 3 August 2014. As of Wednesday, 7 August 2014, the death toll stands at 615 and more than 12,000 houses have toppled.

Church, let’s believe God that many more survivors will be found and helped, and the conditions in the disaster area will remain favourable for the search.

The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, And saves such as have a contrite spirit.

Praying for everyone affected by the loss of flight MH17

We are saddened over the loss of the Malaysia Airlines flight MH17. Our deepest sympathies and prayers go out to the families and friends of the passengers and crew on board the flight.

In this time of bereavement, may they experience the Lord holding them tenderly in His arms and shouldering their burden of grief. (ref: 2 Corinthians 1:3–4)

And beloveds, we need ever more to rely on the Lord for protection in these times. Let us daily confess and say of the Lord that He is our refuge and fortress and put our trust in Him. (ref: Psalm 91:2)

You can keep a constant reminder of the psalm of protection with you when you download and use Psalm 91 as wallpapers on your phones, tablets or computers. Please click here to download the Psalm 91 wallpapers.
