Extending Love And Help To Myanmar

20 August 2015

Our church has given US$10,000 towards relief efforts in Myanmar, where thousands have been displaced and had their livelihoods affected by widespread flooding across the country.

We are working with local partners to bring medical supplies and essential necessities like rice, canned food, salt, sugar and tents to the flood victims in the affected areas.

Let’s continue to keep the nation and its people in prayer.

Celebrating SG50, Helping Lives

Celebrating Singapore's 50th birthday means helping the underprivileged in our nation too. In the months leading up to National Day on 9 August 2015, our Outreach Ministry reached out to different segments of our society through a series of outreach activities to show them that we care.

Blessing underprivileged children

On 26 May 2015, a small team of volunteers were in Woodlands Garden School, a MINDS Special Education School that serves the learning needs of children with intellectual disabilities, to bring gifts of new school shoes and socks to students from low-income families.

Click here to read more about this outreach event.

In addition, needy students under the Financial Assistance Scheme in Angsana Primary School and Greendale Primary School received gift vouchers to buy new school shoes and socks.

Through this Happy Feet Project, we blessed a total of 700 underprivileged students with $21,000 worth of gift vouchers.

Appreciating domestic workers

In the month of June, we organised a lunch party to appreciate and celebrate Filipino domestic helpers in Singapore, and give them a taste of home away from home.

Better homes for needy families

Recognising that low-income families have to cope without basic household items, more than 170 volunteers made home visits to needy households in the Queenstown area over two Saturdays in July to deliver gift vouchers for essential home appliances or furniture.

Helping our nation’s pioneer generation

In the month of August, we will be distributing more than $100,000 worth of supermarket gift vouchers to 1,080 underprivileged elderly to help them with the cost of daily groceries.

The first day of this programme took place on 1 August 2015. Click here to read more about it.

Rock Kidz Month Of Fun In August

Our children’s ministry Rock Kidz is celebrating Singapore’s 50th birthday with a whole month of fun in August!

Primary school students in our Mighty! Alive! and Fearless! classes will receive a stamp collection card at the start of August. To redeem gifts later in the month, they can collect stamps every Sunday by participating in activities such as memory verses recitation and games.

Sundays, 16 & 30 August 2015

On Sundays, 16 and 30 August 2015, there will be a Fun Room at our Marina Bay Sands service venue for the primary school kids who have accumulated enough stamps to gain entry. The younger kids in Champions, Beloved and Treasured classes (aged 1 month old to 6 years old) will not be left out. They can enjoy kiddie rides, photo booths and more outside the classrooms.

Over at The Star Performing Arts Centre (The Star PAC) and GV Yishun, instead of a Fun Room, which won’t be available due to space constraints, the primary school children will get to exchange the stamps they have collected for special gifts on these two Sundays.

Sunday, 6 September 2015

Then on Sunday, 6 September 2015, our primary school children at all service venues can redeem presents one more time by presenting the stamps they have accumulated throughout the month of August! The younger children will also receive something special on that day.

There is so much fun in store as Rock Kidz celebrates SG50 in August. We hope to see your children at Rock Kidz!

A flyer on the month of fun can be found here.

Pray For The Victims Of The Mers Outbreak

14 June 2015

During our services today, Pastor Lawrence Lim led the congregation in prayer for South Korea, the Middle East, and all affected by the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (Mers). He also declared the Lord’s protection over the congregation (ref: Psalm 91:9–10) and for a swift end to the Mers outbreak.

5 June 2015

Church, let us uphold South Korea and its precious people in prayer. We speak God’s healing over the individuals who are being treated for Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (Mers) and His protection over their loved ones and the people around them. We also pray that the Lord will put an end to the Mers outbreak.

Beloveds, let’s continue to rely on the Lord for protection in these times. Let us say of the Lord that He is our refuge and fortress, and put our trust in Him. (ref: Psalm 91:2)

Pray for Sabah, Malaysia

7 June 2015

Pastor Lawrence Lim led the congregation to pray for the victims of the earthquake in Sabah, Malaysia at our Sunday services on 7 June 2015. Together, we also prayed for the Lord’s strength and comfort to be upon the families and loved ones of those affected.

6 June 2015

Our thoughts and prayers go out to those affected by the 6.0-magnitude earthquake in Sabah, Malaysia, including the teachers and students from Tanjong Katong Primary School who are at Mount Kinabalu and are still out of contact.

The earthquake hit the state of Sabah on Borneo island on Friday, 5 June 2015. Striking near the popular tourist destination Mount Kinabalu, the earthquake triggered dangerous landslides and falling boulders, trapping and injuring climbers.

Let’s continue to pray for God’s protection to be upon all who are still missing and for their safe return. May the Lord’s peace and comfort also guard the hearts of their families.

Grace Revolution USA Tour 2015

Our Senior Pastor Joseph Prince will be speaking in three cities  — Houston at Lakewood Church, Dallas and New York City — in the United States of America (USA) this November.

Pastor Prince last preached in the USA in 2013, ministering to thousands there. We are excited that our senior pastor will be impacting many more precious lives in America again.

If you have friends or loved ones in the USA, do let them know that they can register their interest for the services at Lakewood Church and check out other tour and ticketing details here.

Extending Love And Help To Nepal

Latest update on 17 Jun 2015

Pastor Lawrence Lim and Pastor Joash Siow led a team from New Creation Church to Nepal to aid in the distribution of food and essential items to those impacted by the earthquake. On Tuesday, 16 June 2015, they helped to distribute rice, lentils, cooking oil, cooking pots, sugar and mosquito nets to about 100 families in Saku, a village 25km away from Nepal’s capital city of Kathmandu.

17 May 2015

Pastor Raju Sundas of the Lighthouse Foundation and volunteers from his church, Hosanna Church Ministries, have reached another 1,600 people with supplies of rice, noodles and lentils. Many of these volunteers gladly stepped up to help the villagers despite having had their own houses destroyed by the earthquake.

15 May 2015

Our church will be giving another US$5,000 towards the Nepal relief efforts, this time to Magani Church Ministries in Nepal to buy and distribute essential necessities like food, water, blankets and tents for the people affected by the earthquake.

12 May 2015

Church, let’s continue to uphold Nepal and its precious people in prayer. Another earthquake of magnitude 7.4 hit Nepal, near Mount Everest. We are reaching out to our partners in Nepal to find out more and assess how we can help.

5 May 2015

Over the weekend, our partner in Nepal continued to distribute food, tents and other relief supplies to some 5,600 people who have lost their homes. To date, they have reached about 10,000 families displaced by the earthquake.

2 May 2015, 8pm

The supplies of tents, rice and lentils distributed by the Lighthouse Foundation will provide shelter and feed some of those whose homes have been destroyed.

We will be giving S$10,000 to the Singapore Red Cross in aid of the victims of the earthquake. A doctor from our church, Dr Raymond Lim, has also set off for Nepal with the Red Cross medical team from Singapore.

Go, the Red Cross medical team from Singapore, go! Our prayers are with you. Dr Raymond is standing fourth from the left.

26 & 28 April 2015

The nation of Nepal is a beautiful country of sprawling mountains and remote villages with some 30 million inhabitants. When a 7.8-magnitude earthquake struck it on Saturday, 25 April 2015, it destroyed not just buildings but livelihoods and homes, and claimed thousands of lives.

The United Nations estimated on 27 April that 8 million people are in need of humanitarian assistance. The death toll has since risen to over 4,000 and is projected to hit 10,000.

Loving the people of Nepal

To help in the most immediate and practical way, our church is working with a long-time partner to procure and distribute food and essential necessities to the Nepalese.

To this end, we will be giving an initial amount of US$10,000 (about S$13,200) to the Lighthouse Foundation in Nepal, a Nepali state-approved foundation dedicated to feeding programmes, education and healthcare to poor and orphan children.

A glimpse of the devastation in Nepal.

Temporary shelters erected in Nepal after the earthquake.

Pastor Raju Sundas (far right) of the Lighthouse Foundation, Nepal, is already working hard on the ground to distribute food and necessities to the victims of the earthquake.

Since 2010, our church has contributed over S$180,000 to the foundation’s work to rescue abandoned babies and save girls from sexual slavery and abuse. Small girls and young women in parts of Nepal are often tricked and coerced into prostitution. Some are gang-raped and beaten up to make them compliable despite the horrific conditions they endure. Many become pregnant or are afflicted by sexually-transmitted diseases. Without help, these girls have no hope and no future, and may finally die of their sickness.

The foundation works to provide a loving and safe home for these girls and equip them with life skills. Through our giving, we are helping to save these girls from deprivation and exploitation, and create a new life for them.

In 2012, Pastor Lawrence Lim also visited the home and ministered to the girls with prayers of restoration and healing. Click here to read more.

Lifting them up in prayer

Church, let us continue to uphold Nepal and its precious people in prayer. Let us pray that God will strengthen and comfort them, and give the rescue teams wisdom and supernatural insight to save those who need help.

In Memory Of Mr Lee Kuan Yew, First Prime Minister Of Singapore

As a church, we mourn the loss of Mr Lee Kuan Yew, one of Singapore’s founding fathers who made a tremendous difference to the success and prosperity of the country and its citizens. We pray for the Lord’s comfort and strength on Mr Lee’s loved ones during this difficult time, and for His abundant blessings and favour to continue to be on them and our nation.

Together with his pioneering team of leaders, Mr Lee laid the foundation stones of modern-day Singapore and devoted most of his life to serving the people of this nation. His wisdom and dedication resulted in the incredible growth of a small nation. He was truly a great blessing to this country.

Our Senior Pastor Joseph Prince, who has always taught us to have a culture of honour and to show respect and appreciation where it is due, commissioned the youth to honour Mr Lee in a public way. This inspired our youth Dominic Chin to appreciate and honour Mr Lee with a song he wrote and recorded in 2014.

This song was performed as a tribute to Mr Lee at our English services on 29 March 2015, the day of the State Funeral.

Click here to view a video of the performance.

On 22 May 2015, we presented a digital painting of Mr Lee to his son, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, to express our love and appreciation for Mr Lee, and our continued prayers for the family and Singapore.

Our artist Patrick Lee completed the painting in nine hours after he learnt of the demise of Mr Lee.

Chinese Services: Changes In Timings And Venue

Our Chinese services are now held at Marina Bay Sands, Sands Expo and Convention Centre (MBS) on Level 4.

The venue is easily accessible by public transport, and our English services and children’s ministry Rock Kidz are also there on Sundays. Now, almost everyone in the family can attend services together at MBS — adults who are more comfortable in English, those who prefer Chinese, and the kids.

What’s more, the Chinese services are starting earlier in the morning, at the same time as the English services. This means more time to fellowship after church, even with family and friends from the first and second English services.

New Timings
Hokkien service: 8.30am
Mandarin service: 11.30am

So bring your Hokkien- and Mandarin-speaking loved ones to Marina Bay Sands and attend church services together at the same venue as a family!
