Love Without Barriers

“Lord, the youths from New Creation Church are coming to our village! I am sure I will be healed in no time. No more pain.”

It had been four torturous months for Pii Farm’s mum. Her chest had been hurting that she could not work in the kitchen. When she first heard about the team’s visit to her hometown, she began to recover gradually and finally on a fateful night in December 2013, God’s love broke through and shed a shimmer of hope into her condition.

Headed by Deacon Jiow Hee Jhun, 178 servers and leaders from our youth ministry (The Zone) went on a missions trip to Khun Mae Bong Village in Chiang Rai, Thailand from 1 to 7 December 2013. One of the key highlights of the trip was an Evangelistic Night where our volunteers collaborated with local Thai students to put up a host of enthralling performances that pointed to Jesus and His selfless sacrifice.

That evening, Deacon Hee Jhun shared the wonderful gospel of grace to the villagers and among them were Pii Farm and her mother. During the time of ministering, Pii Farm’s mother went up to a youth who laid hands and prayed for her complete healing.

Immediately, all the pain left and she was completely whole. Then, after much persuasion, the usually shy 56 year-old, stood forward and boldly proclaimed the goodness of God.

Pii Farm and her mum’s story is one of the many testimonies reported since the year 2010 when New Creation Church volunteers first sowed the seeds of grace in Chiang Rai. Down through the years, our people have been blessed to see their labour of love bearing fruits. Trip reporter Clarice Sim observed that students who were touched on previous trips are now gloriously saved and baptised in the Holy Spirit!

Giving glory to the one and only — Jesus Christ!

Pii Chris, the founder of Gateway Connection (one of New Creation Church’s local partners), remarked that the salvation of a student’s father left a deep impression on him.

“New Creation Church volunteers visited this father last year but he did not receive Christ. However, through a divine arrangement, the same group of youths reappeared at his doorsteps this year and immediately, he was overwhelmed by the love of God and gave his life to Jesus!”

During the trip, our volunteers not only shared the gospel through home visits and lessons, they also demonstrated the love of God in many practical ways. In just seven days, they built a wall and repainted the classrooms in two schools and even tilled the fields for the village farmers!

A total of 1517 people benefitted from the community involvement projects carried out by our volunteers and 203 souls were saved for Jesus!

Truly, this trip was a perfect demonstration of God caring for the precious souls in Thailand. As 15-year-old Josephine Lim finally realised, God’s amazing love indeed knows no barriers and end. “Regardless of what language you speak, there is basically nothing that can stop Him from loving the people.”

So to God be all the glory for the wonderful things He has done!
