We Care

Honouring Our Seniors

On 7 December 2013, more than 100 volunteers and staff from Outreach and Worship Ministry befriended 143 elderly from Senior Activity Centres of Lions Befrienders Ghim Moh and Care Corner Queenstown. These centres provide a network of social services to the needy, and New Creation Church was blessed to host the 2013 Christmas Banquet with them.

Indoor or outdoor, everyone participated in the games with enthusiasm.

The seniors were treated to a sumptuous lunch and volunteers from the Worship Ministry serenaded the seniors with songs.

Pastor Lawrence sharing on the love of Jesus Christ and the seniors were reminded that Jesus is the best friend.

Daryl, a Secondary 3 student, appreciated the opportunity to eat a Chinese dish called Lou Hei (salad eaten during Chinese New Year) and had prayed to God for it.  He shared the testimony that at this banquet, his prayer was answered when he finally ate the dish in addition to the bountiful eight course meal.

Capturing the moment.  Gifts and items that our blessed seniors brought home to remind them of God’s love.

The blessed seniors left the event with mementos and the reminder that in Jesus, they are not alone.
