Sharing God’s Abundant Love

September 2015 marked our Outreach Ministry’s third mission in Wat Lan Tong School, located some 30km from the city centre in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Our team of 25 volunteers embarked on the mission trip on 13 September 2015 and spent four days reaching out to the students, teachers and villagers there.

Through fun Christ-centred lesson plans and activities prepared by our volunteers, more than 150 students got to know Jesus and learnt how much He loves them. At the end of every Bible story, an altar call was given so children who have yet received Christ as their Saviour had an opportunity to respond to Him. On this mission, a total of 82 children received Jesus into their hearts for the first time. Praise God!

A hands-on activity for the children to personally identify with the finished work of Jesus on the cross.

Helping the children to put up a skit about Jesus, the Good Shepherd who cares for His precious flock.

Sharing the gospel with students in a small group setting.

Reciting the salvation prayer and opening their hearts to receive Jesus.

Besides going to the school, the volunteers also visited the Khon Muang, a group of indigenous northern Thais, over three days. With help from local translators, they reached out to these underprivileged villagers by sharing the gospel and God’s great love for them in their homes and praying specifically for their needs. Through these home visits, 22 villagers received Jesus for the first time.

Fionn Chua, a 37-year-old volunteer, shared how she had the blessed opportunity to pray for a helpless father of two and witness his salvation.

“His heart was crying for help and he did not know what to do and who to turn to. He could only do some part-time work ever since the accident and he also had to take care of his two boys after his wife left him… When he finally accepted Jesus, I was so happy! I believe that he will be blessed and his family will be in good hands now that he is a son of God. I know that the Lord will also fill up the void in his heart with His abundant love!”
