We have been experiencing wave after wave of miracles every day since we sat under Pastor Prince's ministry in New Creation Church.
My husband and I grew up in Tacloban, the Philippines. The night before Typhoon Haiyan hit our city, we partook of the Holy Communion to declare protection over our families back home.
On 8 November 2013, Typhoon Haiyan hit Tacloban and communications went down. We could only see devastating images of our city over the news.
However, thankfully our family members were protected from the typhoon. My mother who was living alone in our two-storey house said she felt an urge to go to one of the rooms on the first level just before the typhoon struck. Immediately when she entered the room, the roof and ceiling of our house collapsed. She tried to open the door to check out what was happening, but the door closed back preventing her from going out. That room where she was in was the only one without damage.
A few days later, my father-in-law was also protected from danger when he headed over to our farmhouse to monitor our business. When he was there, the farmhouse, which was made of light materials, was swaying due to the strong winds. Thankfully, a tree fell on top of the house and put weight over it, preventing the whole house from being blown away. My father-in-law and our farm workers, who were taking shelter in that house, were all protected.
It was also a divine appointment for my father-in-law to be at the farmhouse because his own house was affected by the 10-feet storm surge at that time. He is half paralysed and it would have been disastrous if he was at home.
My sister-in-law who lived near the ground zero community was eight months pregnant and was with her six-year-old son during the storm. Thankfully, the storm surge stopped rising only a few meters away from their house. They were both protected.
When we learnt that our family members were alive, my husband decided to go home and bring them out of the city.
That day, when my husband was about to go into Tacloban, I called up the church’s hotline. I thank God I had someone to talk to and pray with because my emotions then was overwhelming. I was very scared and helpless because of the reported chaos back home and my dear husband would soon go into the "no communication" zone.
Praise God that all our family members were accounted for and my husband was able to bring them out to another city safely.
During his trip, he also saw God working on his behalf — from the availability of vans and drivers who were willing to go inside the city of "unknown", to meeting the perfect ferry timing to transport vehicles in and out of our island.
Most of all, days before what happened, Jesus had been speaking to me and my husband about Him fighting our battles for us. This was our comfort during these times of doubts and uncertainties.
Thank you Pastor Prince for helping us understand Jesus and His finished work. These truths have been our anchor when we did not understand everything else. We know that restoration has been bestowed to us, our families and our city, and it continues to manifest.
