Christmas is a season of giving and a wonderful opportunity for us to be a blessing and a beacon of God’s love to our community.

In the month of December, we will be bringing Christmas cheer and practical gifts to more than 7,000 underprivileged people regardless of race, language or religion, through our Gift of Love events and activities held all over Singapore.

Our activities also extended overseas with Gift Of Love Global. We brought gifts and special meals to some 13,300 prison inmates and underprivileged children in Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Myanmar, Thailand and the Philippines.

Everyone knows the universal language of kids—presents and yummy food! We’re so happy to bring the love of Jesus to some 5,500 children from villages, slums and children’s hospitals in Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Myanmar, Thailand and the Philippines, as part of our Gift Of Love Global initiative.

The love of God transcends geographical barriers. We partnered with local organisations to bring Christmas to some 7,800 prison inmates in Cambodia and Myanmar with gifts of Bible story booklets, blankets and a special meal of chicken curry.

Our partners also sang worship songs and shared the Word with them. Many of the inmates shed tears when they heard about how Jesus loves them and is able to give them hope!

They may be far from home, but they’re definitely not alone! Fellowship and joy abounded at our Gift Of Love celebration dinner for 350 migrant workers.

At the dinner were flavours of home, gifts, performances, as well as a time of praise and worship led by volunteers from our church’s Tamil fellowship group.

We also partnered with a local Telugu church to share the Word, and 23 brothers accepted Christ as their Saviour!

At our Christmas Gift of Love event on Saturday, 14 December 2019, we partnered Marsiling Citizens’ Consultative Committee to bless 1,050 underprivileged families with supermarket vouchers.

Our council member Deacon Matthew Kang and Pastor Lawrence Lim, together with Mr Zaqy Mohamad, Minister of State for National Development and Manpower, presented each family with $100 worth of vouchers.

Meanwhile, more of our pastors and volunteers fanned out across Singapore to visit underprivileged elderly at their homes and senior activity centres to bless them with handwritten Christmas cards and shopping vouchers worth $100.

Festive cheer was in the air as our pastors and volunteers visited nursing homes across Singapore as part of our Christmas Gift Of Love 2019 initiative. That morning, they distributed gift packs and handwritten cards to some 1,900 elderly residents and rang in the Christmas season with carolling, smiles and love.

We kicked off our annual Gift Of Love initiative with a Christmas Gift Of Love event organised in partnership with North East Community Development Council to bring festive cheer to some 300 underprivileged families.

This year, our gift of love to each household comprises $100 worth of supermarket vouchers and $50 in meal vouchers. In addition, we also gave out trolleys to the families for their grocery shopping.

We were honoured to have Mr Heng Swee Keat, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, and Mr Masagos Zulkifli, Minister for the Environment and Water Resources, and Mayor Desmond Choo join us at the event.

Our church council member Deacon Matthew Kang, Pastor Lawrence Lim and Pastor Joash Siow were also there to present the gifts to the families and join some of them to do grocery shopping with the supermarket vouchers. It was wonderful to see them load up the gift trolleys with items for their families!
