New Creation Church Local Outreach Update (Aug 2016–Jul 2017)

We believe we are blessed to be a blessing. Besides our overseas mission work, we have been actively serving and showing love to our local community, particularly the underprivileged, in the course of 12 months from August 2016 to July 2017.

UNDERPRIVILEGED ELDERLY
 

We regularly visit the less privileged elderly in nursing homes, family service centres and senior activity centres, and bring them out for outings. During Mother’s Day and Father’s Day in 2017, we also celebrated with them and honoured them with gifts.

LESS PRIVILEGED CHILDREN
 

Children are precious to us. In August 2016, our church gave out educational bursaries to help students from low-income families, including those with special needs.

In July 2017, we also gave out new school shoes to some 950 students, many of them also with special needs, through our Happy Feet initiative.

FOREIGN WORKERS
 

We also reach out to migrant workers in our community who have contributed to Singapore.

Earlier this year, together with a local Telugu-speaking church, we organised an appreciation dinner for over 400 Indian foreign workers and shared the gospel with them in their own language. Praise the Lord that over 40 people received Jesus as their Saviour!

We also showed love and care to domestic workers from Humanitarian Organization for Migration Economics, or HOME, by organising a fun outing for them. HOME is a local charity which cares for migrant workers and victims of abuse human trafficking.

In all, over 2,900 volunteers from various ministries participated in more than 150 activities, blessing about 12,900 in our community.
