At Rock Kidz, we are committed not only to the spiritual growth of our children but also to creating a safe and secure environment where they can encounter Jesus freely. We prioritise their physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being through clear safety policies, a culture of accountability, and continuous training for all our volunteers.

To protect our children, we have robust policies and procedures in place.
- Comprehensive Screening
All staff and volunteers working with children undergo a rigorous screening process, including background checks, reference checks, interviews, and other assessments.
- Safe Environments
We conduct health and bag checks and manage controlled access points to all children’s activity areas. Our ministry spaces are safeguarded by security personnel and monitored with CCTV cameras.
- Secure Check-in & Check-out
We follow strict sign-in and sign-out procedures to ensure every child’s safe arrival and departure from church activities.
- Emergency Preparedness
Rock Kidz has clear emergency response plans in place. Regular drills equip our staff and volunteers to respond effectively in the event of a crisis.

We believe child safety is a shared responsibility. Staff and volunteers are encouraged and empowered to report any concerns or suspicious behaviours through clear and confidential channels. All reports are taken seriously and followed up with timely and appropriate action.

- Child-Safe Code Of Conduct
All staff and volunteers adhere to a child-safe code that includes the two-adult rule (i.e. at least two adults should be present and in plain sight of each other when supervising children), safe toileting protocols (e.g. only female volunteers can bring preschool children to the washroom), appropriate boundaries, and safe interactions (e.g. not exchanging personal contact info with children, including online and social media platforms).
- Training & Equipping
New volunteers undergo comprehensive child safety training before they serve. Refresher sessions are held twice a year to ensure everyone is well-equipped and aligned with current best practices (e.g. respecting children’s personal data and privacy by not taking photos/videos of them to share on personal social media sites, conducting gender-appropriate interactions).
As part of our commitment to safeguard our children, and build a culture of safety and accountability, our policies and practices are regularly reviewed and updated to ensure that they remain relevant, effective and compliant with legal requirements. Our review processes include inputs from various stakeholders, including parents, our leadership team, staff and volunteers, to ensure a comprehensive and inclusive approach.
