I accepted Christ at 16 with a heart on fire—serving in ministry, giving generously, and desiring to bring others to church. But over time, the pressure to perform and constant guilt-driven expectations wore me down. I was told to give more, serve more, pray more—until I felt like a hypocrite, condemned as a sinner, and unworthy of God’s love. Eventually, I left church, believing I had failed Him.
Soon after, my family fell apart. Both my parents had affairs, divorced, and blamed me for their brokenness. I chased money in an attempt to fix things, even turning to risky ventures. I became a guarantor for a business that later collapsed due to fraud and was left buried in debt. On top of that, to help my bankrupt father, I opened a sole proprietorship—which eventually became the source of lawsuits and financial ruin that led to my own bankruptcy. I spiralled into insomnia, anxiety, and despair—drinking heavily just to sleep.
At my lowest, I longed to return to God. By what felt like a divine appointment, I ended up at New Creation Church. That Sunday, Pastor Prince spoke about righteousness through Christ—not earned, but freely given. For the first time in years, I felt peace and acceptance. The very next week, I was offered a job with double my former pay. Doors began to open—I could afford a home for my mother and no longer carried the burden of the failed business.
I met a woman, brought her to New Creation Church, and she too found healing in Christ. We grew in faith together. Though legal challenges continued, I kept praising God. By His grace, everything was resolved, and I only had to repay a tenth of the debt I owed.
More than that, in just four years, God restored all that I had lost. I got married, moved into a beautiful home with my wife, welcomed a baby, and was finally discharged from bankruptcy—all at the right place, at the right time.
Today, I stand free—not because I am perfect, but because He is faithful. I’m grateful for the gospel of grace and a God who never gave up on me.
