Offered A Better Job Despite Having No Experience

I had been working in a highly stressful, client-facing role which required me to work for long hours. This caused me to develop several symptoms such as heart palpitations. I constantly prayed for a new job. 

However, the job that I was in is highly specialised, making it hard for me to make a switch without taking a big pay cut, or starting afresh from a junior position. 

Then, I was offered a job in another company which was much bigger. Though the role was similar, I was promised that there would be job rotations. 

However, after I accepted the offer, I was placed in the same area of work which was stressful and had long working hours. 

After my second year there, I wanted a change in career. However, time after time, I was unable to find anything that I was interested in. 

Then, I came across two praise reports and bookmarked them on my phone. I would read them over and over again, and confess God’s promises over myself.

One day, a friend who worked as a headhunter asked me if I wanted to try a contract job which I had no experience in. 

Furthermore, the job title indicated that I would be taking a step down in my career. After my wife and I prayed about it, I felt the peace to take up the role.

Praise God, instead of a contract position which was the original intent of the employer, I was offered a permanent position. Not only was my position not lowered, I also did not have to take a pay cut. In fact, I was offered a double digit pay rise! 

I have been in the role for nearly a year now. During the recent performance appraisal, I was rated as a high performer.
