Cancer-Free And Extremely Healthy

My wife and I have been attending Grace Revolution Church in Dallas, Texas. It has truly been a year of greater glory in every area of our lives— our marriage, finances, career, and physical bodies. One of the many demonstrations of His amazing love came not long ago.

One Saturday evening, as I was preparing for bed, I noticed that my left testicle was enlarged and hard. I decided to make an appointment to see our family doctor first thing on Monday morning, as I knew that something was not right. I began to be worried and fearful.

But at church the next morning, I felt the Lord encouraging me through Pastor Prince’s broadcast message. I was also prayed over and anointed with oil. When Monday came, my wife and I went to the doctor in a state of peace as we rested in our Father’s love.

After I had an ultrasound and a consultation with a urologist, I was diagnosed with testicular cancer. Despite the doctor’s report, we chose to cling to the report of the Lord. We knew our heavenly Father would guide us in the decisions we needed to make and we sensed an overwhelming peace in the midst of the storm. We felt so at rest in the finished work of Jesus and were filled with an unexplainable joy. We believed that just as Jesus is, so was I in my physical body.

The doctor wanted to move forward with surgery that Thursday to remove the mass in the left testicle. That would be followed up with a computerized tomography (CT) scan on Friday to assess what further treatment would be needed. During the consultation, we felt very restful about moving forward with the surgery and decided to schedule the procedure, believing that I was already healed because of Jesus’ finished work. We also continually reminded ourselves of our righteousness in Him as we partook of the holy Communion daily.

On Thursday, the surgery went very well. However, after the surgery, the doctor spoke to my wife with much concern, as the cancerous mass was very large and belonged to the mixed germ cell tumor category. Despite the doctor’s concern, my wife and I continued to believe that I was completely free of cancer in my body.

On Friday morning, I went in for another CT scan to see if the cancer had spread to the nearby areas. I went in believing that I was healed and that nothing would be found. When the doctor looked over the report, he was astounded. The CT scan confirmed that I was completely cancer-free and extremely healthy.

The doctor found the report very shocking because his experience had taught him that cancer cells of the size and type that I had would certainly have spread to the surrounding areas. He had actually already made an appointment for me to see a specialist to discuss the options for chemotherapy and radiation therapy even before the CT scan. However, after looking at the report, he agreed that it was no longer necessary and canceled the appointment!

The doctor was very pleased to see how quickly I recovered and was able to return to my normal activities. The surgery took place right in the midst of my off-season training program, which meant there were no setbacks in my training whatsoever. This was important to me as a professional athlete.

My wife and I know that our heavenly Father had protected me and kept the cancer contained, and subsequently had it removed. What the enemy tried to use as a setback, our heavenly Father used as a divine set‑up. Now, as I share this story with people I cross paths with, I am able to use it as a glorious testimony of the health and wholeness that we have in Jesus. Through the whole experience, my wife and I were able to remain at rest because we knew that the Father sees us as righteous through His Son, Jesus, and we are completely loved by Him.

Glory to God!

Some time ago, my two-and-a-half-year-old daughter came down with a high fever and was hospitalised for what the doctors believed were flu viruses. However, after two nights, she became unresponsive and started gasping for air. She was later discovered to have a severe streptococcal infection. Her heart, lungs and kidneys were shutting down, and she was placed on life support.

At one point, the doctors could only tell me, “Your daughter is very ill,” while showing me X-rays of her lungs, which appeared completely white. They even arranged for a social worker to prepare us for the worst.

The doctors explained that if she did not improve, she would need to undergo a procedure to be placed on an extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) machine—a heart and lung bypass. They warned us of the risks involved, including possible brain bleeding, but said it was the only way to buy her more time.

I was devastated. When her condition worsened and I had to sign the consent form for the ECMO procedure, I remembered two of my Christian friends and asked them to pray with me. During the operation, my friends and I sat in the waiting room praying and worshipping God.

After the procedure, my daughter remained in the ICU. During that time, the church’s healing team visited regularly to pray and partake of the holy Communion with her. At a healing service, Pastor Henry also prayed for my daughter and declared that she was on her way to recovery. Pastor Mei from the Rock Kidz Ministry encouraged me to declare the finished work of Jesus over her as well. I spoke scriptures over my daughter and sang worship songs to her, and each time I did, she would respond by moving.

Days later, my daughter was successfully taken off the ECMO machine. Her kidneys began to recover, and dialysis was no longer needed. However, a later scan revealed bleeding on the brain, and we rallied the prayer warriors again. At the next scan, the bleeding was gone!

My daughter eventually underwent lung surgery to remove the remaining infection. After that, her fever broke, and she was transferred out of the ICU. One doctor told me, “She is a miracle. Whatever prayers you and your friends were praying, I think it worked.”

My daughter was discharged about six weeks after she was admitted. Through it all, the Lord was with us. He healed my daughter completely. All glory to God!

Last year, my husband and I were expecting our firstborn. On the day my water bag broke, we had just seen our obstetrician that morning and all was well, so we packed our bags and called a taxi.

As we got into the taxi, I experienced a massive gush of fluid and began bleeding bright red blood. We arrived at the hospital around 2am and, to our horror, the nurse attending to us could not detect any heartbeat.

An obstetrician who happened to be in the hospital came to assess me and immediately performed an emergency C-section. When I woke up from the surgery, I learned that I had suffered a placental abruption. My son had lost a significant amount of blood and had been deprived of oxygen for a period of time.

When he was delivered, he showed no signs of life. But the paediatrician resuscitated him and, by God’s grace, my son came back to life. All the doctors and nurses later told us we were very “lucky”. If we had arrived even a minute later, he would likely not have survived. But we knew it was not luck, but God.

A month later, when we visited the obstetrician who delivered our baby, we learned that he is also a Christian. He was not supposed to be in the hospital at that hour. He had come in for another emergency case and felt prompted to stay.

After birth, our baby stayed in the hospital for seven days. During this time, we were deeply strengthened by our church family from the Outreach Ministry, who prayed relentlessly for our son. The leaders also partook of the holy Communion on his behalf. His lungs improved so quickly that, two weeks after his discharge, he no longer needed oxygen at all. We were worried that his brain or organs had been damaged due to the lack of oxygen. But praise God, his brain scans showed that all was well.

Today, our boy is a healthy. His weight is trending above his growth curve, and he is meeting all his developmental milestones. The paediatrician has declared that he is past the initial birth trauma.

All praise to Jesus! We believe Jesus brought our baby back to life. We are also so thankful for our church family, who stood with us and supported us during this difficult time. We truly believe their prayers played a part in our son’s miraculous recovery. Jesus is indeed real and alive!
