Received Christ And Experienced Career Guidance And Peace In The Family

I am a foreigner (from China) and had been working in Singapore for a few years. About a year ago, I was struggling with depression and chronic insomnia. Then, one day, a colleague invited me to New Creation Church for the Christmas service. Although the service was wonderful, I didn’t return the following Sunday.

However, I had left my contact details with a leader at the Connect Point. Later, someone from the church reached out and encouraged me to attend the first service of 2024. That day, Pastor Prince preached about Eutychus, and I remember thinking I didn’t want to “fall from the third storey,” but I still wasn’t sure what to believe.

I decided to call my mom, who has been a believer for decades and shared with her my experience. After our conversation, I decided to attend church weekly. I also joined the Grace Discovery classes where many Bible verses were shared. Initially, it felt overwhelming, but surprisingly, my sleep started to improve significantly.

A few weeks later, after a Sunday service, I picked up a salvation card at the Connect Point. For the first time, I prayed the salvation prayer. In that moment, it felt as if the air around me had become sweet.

Shortly after, my work visa was rejected. I felt like God had closed a door, and I couldn’t understand why. But I remembered a sermon by Pastor Gabriel on the Gospel Partner app, where he encouraged the congregation to keep thanking God even when things don’t go as planned. This time, I was able to say yes to trusting God.

It dawned on me that I had always wanted to pursue further studies. So, I started preparing my applications. I was also connected to a care group that prayed for me and encouraged me throughout the process.

Praise God, everything went smoothly, and I was accepted into one of the top three business schools in France to pursue my master’s degree!

Not only that, I recently brought my parents to Singapore for a visit. They were thrilled to attend service with me. What was amazing is that earlier in the year, I had a huge argument with my dad. But at some point, I realised that there were no more quarrels in our family.

It’s been less than a year since I came to New Creation Church, and my life has been completely transformed. Pastor Prince once said that when Jesus comes into your life, be ready to be lifted up. Now, I experience God’s favour every day, and I am truly blessed by His goodness!

Some time ago, my two-and-a-half-year-old daughter came down with a high fever and was hospitalised for what the doctors believed were flu viruses. However, after two nights, she became unresponsive and started gasping for air. She was later discovered to have a severe streptococcal infection. Her heart, lungs and kidneys were shutting down, and she was placed on life support.

At one point, the doctors could only tell me, “Your daughter is very ill,” while showing me X-rays of her lungs, which appeared completely white. They even arranged for a social worker to prepare us for the worst.

The doctors explained that if she did not improve, she would need to undergo a procedure to be placed on an extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) machine—a heart and lung bypass. They warned us of the risks involved, including possible brain bleeding, but said it was the only way to buy her more time.

I was devastated. When her condition worsened and I had to sign the consent form for the ECMO procedure, I remembered two of my Christian friends and asked them to pray with me. During the operation, my friends and I sat in the waiting room praying and worshipping God.

After the procedure, my daughter remained in the ICU. During that time, the church’s healing team visited regularly to pray and partake of the holy Communion with her. At a healing service, Pastor Henry also prayed for my daughter and declared that she was on her way to recovery. Pastor Mei from the Rock Kidz Ministry encouraged me to declare the finished work of Jesus over her as well. I spoke scriptures over my daughter and sang worship songs to her, and each time I did, she would respond by moving.

Days later, my daughter was successfully taken off the ECMO machine. Her kidneys began to recover, and dialysis was no longer needed. However, a later scan revealed bleeding on the brain, and we rallied the prayer warriors again. At the next scan, the bleeding was gone!

My daughter eventually underwent lung surgery to remove the remaining infection. After that, her fever broke, and she was transferred out of the ICU. One doctor told me, “She is a miracle. Whatever prayers you and your friends were praying, I think it worked.”

My daughter was discharged about six weeks after she was admitted. Through it all, the Lord was with us. He healed my daughter completely. All glory to God!

Last year, my husband and I were expecting our firstborn. On the day my water bag broke, we had just seen our obstetrician that morning and all was well, so we packed our bags and called a taxi.

As we got into the taxi, I experienced a massive gush of fluid and began bleeding bright red blood. We arrived at the hospital around 2am and, to our horror, the nurse attending to us could not detect any heartbeat.

An obstetrician who happened to be in the hospital came to assess me and immediately performed an emergency C-section. When I woke up from the surgery, I learned that I had suffered a placental abruption. My son had lost a significant amount of blood and had been deprived of oxygen for a period of time.

When he was delivered, he showed no signs of life. But the paediatrician resuscitated him and, by God’s grace, my son came back to life. All the doctors and nurses later told us we were very “lucky”. If we had arrived even a minute later, he would likely not have survived. But we knew it was not luck, but God.

A month later, when we visited the obstetrician who delivered our baby, we learned that he is also a Christian. He was not supposed to be in the hospital at that hour. He had come in for another emergency case and felt prompted to stay.

After birth, our baby stayed in the hospital for seven days. During this time, we were deeply strengthened by our church family from the Outreach Ministry, who prayed relentlessly for our son. The leaders also partook of the holy Communion on his behalf. His lungs improved so quickly that, two weeks after his discharge, he no longer needed oxygen at all. We were worried that his brain or organs had been damaged due to the lack of oxygen. But praise God, his brain scans showed that all was well.

Today, our boy is a healthy. His weight is trending above his growth curve, and he is meeting all his developmental milestones. The paediatrician has declared that he is past the initial birth trauma.

All praise to Jesus! We believe Jesus brought our baby back to life. We are also so thankful for our church family, who stood with us and supported us during this difficult time. We truly believe their prayers played a part in our son’s miraculous recovery. Jesus is indeed real and alive!
